1. What is the RAFTING?
Rafting is the the name of descending on the white water in the special boats made of rubber.
2. In what time of the year is possible to do rafting?
Rafting on the Tara river is organised from May till October.
3. Is it dangerous?
We can say that it is not dangerous. We have experienced river guides. They descend tourists every day of the rafting season. Every tourists on the boat have safety equipment and they never had dangerous situation.
4. what is the difference beetwen ˝splavarenje˝ and rafting?
˝Splavarenje˝ is descending on the wooden boats, rafting is descending with special rubber boats and it is more atractive and safer.
5. whether the boat can be turned over or punctured?
We have special boats made from special kind of rubber with reinforcments and strong chambers so it can not be sink down. There are also chambers for drain water and they let-off water which get in the boat during the descending. Posibility to be turned over is minimum with our experienced river guides.
6. how old i should be to go to rafting?
There is no age limit, but we recommend that children who are not old enough to go to school do not go to rafting too.
7. what do i get of the safety equipment?
Your river guide will give you safety vest, diving socks and paddle.
8. what should i bring into the boat?
We will give you safety equipment. You should bring your personal things with you ( dry clothes, towel, sunglasses, suncreme, camera etc. ) in the bag.
9. how many persons can be in the boat?
8-10 depends how big they are.
10. Do i have to know to swim?
No. You will wear safety vest, and we have to inform you that nobody of our guests did not fell of the boat...just guests who wanted to swim.
11. do i have to know to row?
That is not necessary, but who wants to row our river guides will teach him/her. Paddling is one of the charms of the rafting.
12. Am i gonna wet myself in the boat?
Yes, you will be wet. Especially people in the front part of the boat, so in the ˝first lines˝ are strongest guys. Best clothes for rafting is swiming costume or shorst and T-shirt.
13. Is Tara river a cold water and can i swim there?
Water temperature is beetwen 5-15 degrees of Celzius but most of the tourists swim a lot.
14. is it cold in the boat?
It is relatively. When is sunny day many tourists swim to get some refreshment, during the cloudy days with stronger rowing we you will warm up yourself, in the colder cloudy days we will give you raft suits.
15. what happens if the weather is bad?
˝Bad weather˝ is a relative term. Rafting is mostly organised in summer. Many our tourists who did rafting during summer rain told us that it is interesting experience because water surface looks fabulous because of the rain drops ( they get wet anyway ). The only situation when we cancel rafting is when is very cold all day long. Then we move rafting for the next avaliable date.
